About

One studio,three suns

Thalos Design is a web design studio working across London, Los Angeles and Cyprus: three markets, three time zones, one studio, in two languages. London is the base. Los Angeles is the afternoon. Cyprus is the other half of the vocabulary. The work is the same in all three: fast, considered sites for businesses that need to be taken seriously.

We build for the businesses that lose to worse ones with better websites. The restaurant with better food than its homepage. The gym that changes lives and loses sign-ups to a broken contact form. They get the polish of a studio charging ten times more, because that gap is the entire reason this one exists.

θόλος

The name

The name is Greek, from θόλος, the round chamber the ancients built when something mattered enough to build it properly. That’s the standard here: built properly, or not at all.

Three rooms, one studio

Not three offices. Three places the studio genuinely operates in, with the clocks to prove it.

LON local

London

Home, and where the working day starts. London standards without London posturing: most clients here are within an hour of the studio, in person when it helps, and never with a ceremony made of it. The city sets the bar the other two are held to.

LA local

Los Angeles

The afternoon shift. When London winds down, Los Angeles is mid-morning, so briefs land overnight and answers are waiting by the first coffee. Clients there get a studio that has already done a full day's thinking before they wake up.

CY local

Cyprus

The other half of the language, and not a satellite office: family, Greek spoken natively, and an honest read on what businesses on the island actually need. We price for the local market and write the words ourselves, in Greek, without reaching for a translator.

Where it started

Thalos began the way most Cypriot stories in London do: with family, and with work that had to be twice as good to be taken half as seriously. Its founder grew up between London and the island, Greek at the table and English at school, and watched from both sides of the counter what a serious website does for a serious business. The studio still holds itself to that: three rooms, two languages, and the conviction that how a thing is presented decides how it is treated.

What we hold to

The price is the price

Published on the site, the same for everyone. A studio that negotiates its own worth will negotiate yours.

Fast is a feature

Every site ships against a performance budget. A beautiful page that loads slowly is a beautiful page nobody saw.

Restraint is the style

One signature moment, then discipline. The measure of a design is what it declined to add.

Both languages, native

English and Greek, both written by hand here, never machine-translated. Even the fonts on this site carry both alphabets.

If your business deserves better than its website, we should talk.
